Biometric Data Retention & Destruction Policy

Elio is a US-only voice-processing service for dog calming audio. This policy describes how we handle biometric information under the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA) and equivalent state laws.

What we collect

When you record your voice during onboarding, we extract approximately 30 numerical parameters that describe characteristics of your voice (fundamental frequency, jitter, amplitude shape). These are numbers, not audio. They are the only biometric artifact we retain.

Destruction confirmation

Account deletion confirmation is sent by email and includes a timestamp. You may request a separate written attestation of biometric-data destruction by emailing hello@elio.pet.

Disclosure restrictions

We do not sell, lease, license, trade, or otherwise profit from your biometric data. We do not share it with third parties except as required to operate the service (e.g. our audio-processing infrastructure providers, who process the data on our behalf under contractual confidentiality obligations).
